Mission Statement

Willowgrove is a Christian organization that seeks to nurture the spiritual, social, emotional and physical growth of children and youth through a variety of programs in a natural setting. In pursuit of this mission, Willowgrove is committed to:

  • Serving a diverse community
  • Peace making and non violence
  • Caring for the land that God has entrusted to us

One of the programs run by Willowgrove is Fraser Lake Camp. The purpose of Fraser Lake is, "To provide a camping experience for children and youth which focuses on promoting their personal and spiritual growth within a Christian and Mennonite context."

It is the desire of Fraser Lake Camp to lead campers to:

  1. Come to know God
  2. Want to serve and obey Christ
  3. Wish to serve Him with their whole life

Staff Conduct Agreement

I will follow all the set policies and regulations at Fraser Lake Camp to ensure that campers and fellow staff will be in a safe atmosphere - physically, emotionally and spiritually.

I will govern my personal actions while at camp to reflect the mission statement of Willowgrove and the purpose of Fraser Lake Camp. I also understand that Fraser Lake Camp is a facility that does not allow smoking, alcohol or non-prescription drugs.

I will allow myself the opportunity to be challenged and the chance to grow in my own faith while at camp.

I will promote Fraser Lake Camp as a safe place for all children where they can seek out their own personal beliefs. I will also encourage campers to challenge their limits and challenge them to look at God. I will make an extended effort to help all campers feel comfortable and at ease. I will provide campers with the opportunity to be a vital part of a group that is positive, spiritually dynamic, socially comfortable, physically challenging, emotionally satisfying and mentally stimulating. I will treat people equally and with respect, no matter what race, religion or economic background they come from.

I will strive to maintain open lines of communication with fellow staff and if there is a problem between another staff member and myself, I will approach that specific person and that person only. If the problem cannot be solved between us, I will go directly to my supervisor for assistance. I agree that if conflicts are resolved in this manner, we will be able to prevent gossip and cliques, which will result in the promotion of group unity.

I understand that camp offers a wide variety of events and activities. I also understand that I may be asked to participate and assist in tasks that are not directly related to my job.

I agree to all these statements and understand that I will be held accountable to them.
