Fraser Lake Camp's Staff

All of our staff are carefully selected for their diverse abilities and their commitment to uphold Fraser Lake Camp's Mission. Our staff, whose average age is 20 years old, include Red Cross certified swimming instructors, cabin counsellors, program staff, maintenance staff, kitchen staff, support staff, a camper services director and a site director.

Our staff is here to serve your child and to ensure they have a quality camping experience. We look for staff that have a genuine interest in children, a desire to share their faith and enjoy being outdoors. All positions are for an 8-week period. We would hire for the following positions:

  • Cabin Counsellors
  • Waterfront Staff (must have NLS and Leaders)
  • Kitchen Staff
  • Cooks
  • Camp Nurse
  • Maintenance Staff

[Work at FLC!] We are affiliated with the Ontario Camps Association who advises that staff need to be a minimum age of 17 to work at a residential camp and be responsible for supervising children.

[Ron Shantz, Willowgrove Executive Director]

Our Executive Director

Ron Shantz

Ron has a long history with Willowgrove through Fraser Lake Camp, originally as a camper and then continuing through the ranks of summer staff throughout his school years. He served two terms on the board of directors in the 1980s. Following a 20-year career with TransCanada PipeLines, he was called into ministry, serving as Executive Director of Prince Charles Place, a non profit housing project in Oakville. From 1996 to 2008, he served as Founding Executive Director of Kerr Street Ministries. He is an ordained minister and a chaplain to the low income housing community. Ron and his wife Joyce, have two adult sons, Kyle and Brandon.

Our Director

Eric Musselman

Eric joined Fraser Lake Camp after being Pastor of Youth Ministries at a church in Whitby. Eric has a Bachelor of Religious Studies Degree from Tyndale University College and Seminary. He resides in Stouffville, Ontario, with his wife Maria, their two sons, Benjamin and Jeremiah, and their daughter Hannah. Eric and Maria met while serving at Glenbrook Day Camp in 1994.
